RONALDO TO JUVENTUS, HIT OR MISS?

The five-time Ballon d'or winner is now part of the past at Real Madrid after completing a controversial move to Juventus. He has left the Spanish side after nine season at the Santiago Bernabeu and the los Blancos must now prepare for his absence in the upcoming season. After hitting an incredible 450 goals in his 438 appearances for Real, winning 16 trophies in that time, including four champions league crowns in the past five season and three in a row under Zinedine Zidane, he has now departed leaving Real without their coach when Zidane resigned and also their star player.
    C. Ronaldo played just 44 games last season which was his fewest since his debut real Madrid season though he no longer has the legs of the swashbuckling wide player he once was, reinventing himself as a centre forward. Of his 44 appearances last season, 31 strike were as a strike while the remaining were from the wing.
For Real Madrid, the sale of Ronaldo recoup more than the transfer fee they paid to Manchester United almost a decade ago. It represent a good value for money considering the state of the transfer market presently and for a player already meant to have passed his peak.
Juventus swooping in to complete a transfer for calibre of player still holds some risks but the deal seem to make financial sense for all parties involved, the arrival of Ronaldo would be expected to strengthen the team, guarantee more success domestically and qualify routinely for champions league which means more sponsors, more TV money and more prize money. Winning the champions league can be worth as much as £88.5m and having Ronaldo as the posterboy of the team more than guarantee a chance of achieving that dream. Even the money Juventus has earn from their past seven consecutive league victories should more than cover for his transfer fees and wages. The added exposure and experience makes it a sensible signing despite his age and  barring any significant injury,he might be their best signing so far and years to come.
